The Center for Emerging Viruses (CEV) at the University of Minnesota was established in 2020, responding to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on global health and economy.

The mission of CEV is to investigate the infection mechanisms of emerging viruses and to develop diagnostic, preventive and therapeutic strategies against emerging viral infections.
